Straggler is me, it was a nickname I got from wearing a blue and white foam trucker hat that I scribbled the word ‘straggler’ on with a red sharpie. Straggler started with that hat and has since been on skate decks, jackets, sweatshirts, jeans, and tees. It has been printed, painted, dyed, and more. It’s my way of experimenting, learning, and creating. It’s my outlet. And I’m very lucky I get to share that with other people and use it as my way of life.
When I make anything Straggler it’s me having expressing myself sometimes with collaborators and the input of friends and family. Sometimes it’s literally me throwing paint at the wall and seeing what sticks. So often you will see pieces and items posted on social media that never go up for sale on this site, it might be because that item got destroyed in the process of me trying something new, it was made for someone specifically, it might’ve been a commission, or I felt it wasn’t good enough or durable enough to be sold to a consumer.
I try and only sell one of one items I believe can actually be worn and enjoyed, some of them are more fragile than others and I will always list that in the item description.
I love Straggler it’s been a way to put a part of me out into the world for others to see and all clothes and accessories (even the fragile ones) are meant to be WORN and lived in. I highly encourage you to enjoy these items in everyday life. Garden in your sweatshirt, go swimming in your shorts, it’s okay to get that big bite of the taco wearing the t-shirt. Life happens and I always like it when clothing shows that it’s been a part of someone’s life :)
